About The
Innovation Story

The Innovation Story (TIS) is an organization whose mission is to empower students (ages 11-17) with real-world technical skills, transforming them into change-makers and innovators. This is done through expert-curated, cohort-based, hands-on programs in computer science and robotics.

About Amazon Future Engineer

Amazon Future Engineer is a comprehensive childhood-to-career program aimed at increasing access to computer science education for children and young adults from underserved and underrepresented communities.

AFE is partnering with The Innovation Story to help underprivileged children from Mumbai unleash their potential by enabling them to build a portfolio of tangible innovations and also equipping them with life skills that will serve them in the future.

Why Choose Us?

Knowledge of Computer Science (CS) is fundamental to students future careers. Computing and Technology hold the promise of solving problems big and small by shaping the world around us. Inclusion, then, becomes more critical than ever before.

TIS aims at bridging the digital literacy gap by helping students from underserved communities develop a strong foundation in information technology tools, and giving them exposure to various fields of Computer Science, from Website Design to Robotics. In the process, we equip them with cognitive and problem-solving skills needed to solve real-world challenges and build a foundation for their future success.

Our Courses

Our courses are structured to give students hands-on experience with
Technology, Block-based Coding, and Computational Thinking.

Grades 7 to 12 Instructor-led course with a learning cohort

Digital skills are critical in today’s tech-centric environment. They help you connect and communicate, learn and engage with your community. This course focuses on how to use a computer, the internet, how to protect your digital identity and your devices, and how to navigate Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Grades 7 to 12 Instructor-led course with a learning cohort

This course aims to help students understand programming concepts and how they can be used to make computers perform various tasks. In the process, students develop important computational thinking skills which help in problem-solving across many disciplines.

In this course, students are introduced to creative computing using Scratch. They create interactive storybooks, animations, games, and unplugged activities built to introduce the concepts of Algorithm, Sequencing, Conditions, Looping, and Parallelism.

Grades 7 to 12 Instructor-led course with a learning cohort

With an exponentially growing community around data science, machine learning, AI, web development, and more, Python is a programming language that has revolutionized the way we write code.

Students are introduced to core programming concepts like Data types, Conditionals, Loops, Variables, and Functions. This course includes an overview of the various tools available for writing and running Python, and gets students coding quickly. It also provides hands-on Coding exercises using commonly used custom functions, and reading and writing to console.

The course delves deeper into how to apply Algorithmic thinking to solve problems and developing modular code. The students learn to write efficient code with appropriate data structures to store data.

Grades 7 to 12 Instructor-led course with a learning cohort

Start your Web Development journey by learning how to build a website. This course covers three key website programming and design languages: HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Learn to create a web page using basic elements to control layout and style.

Grades 7 to 12 Instructor-led course with a learning cohort

This 3D-Modelling course teaches the students to develop products and machines in a virtual platform using computer-aided design and Fusion 360 software. The 3D-models are set by using dimensions and by constraining them to the specified position. Through this course, the students can extend their perspective to

  • Animate: Create an Exploded-view Mp3 Video
  • Render: Create a JPEG image by adding lights and texture to the model
  • Manufacture: Study and program the sequence of the products’ productions
  • Simulate: Test the model virtually by adding the material property and specified Load (N), to verify its strength and capability
  • Draw: Generate documentation of the parts and the assembly, by showing the three views (Front, Top, Side)

The course covers all the Engineering needs in one single roof, which can integrate the complete system, from raw material to finished product.

Grades 7 to 12 Instructor-led course with a learning cohort

This is a hands-on course covering all major domains of Robotics; the ultimate goal is to build a fully functional, well-programmed Robot. The course builds off of knowledge from previous programming and CAD courses, while introducing more advanced topics in these streams. Students also learn a completely new vertical: electricals. Concepts covered include optimised design, control systems, algorithms, and more. Completing the course promises to augment classroom learning by way of seeing academic theories put to practice in the real world. The course focuses on teaching the way of thinking and problem-solving that goes into creating Robots - from brainstorming, prototyping, to product stage so that students design Robots based on the problem statement on their own.
